In 2009, Mrs. JoNell Mellody and then Superintendent Randy Hancock embarked on a mission to enhance public education above and beyond traditional means.
The Royse City ISD Education Foundation was formed and has flourished into the go-to source of funds for our most innovative educators and programs.
Since then, a selfless group of volunteer directors has generated and distributed more than $2 million to teachers, students, and campuses for innovative programming.
In the inaugural year, 16 grants were awarded for a total of $29,424.
That number climbed to more than $128,000 by 2025.
